Mase Wants Chris Brown Collaboration Record, "Let's Do A Smash!"

Showing his return to rap is more than hype, Mase has begun reaching out to artists for collaborations, including Chris Brown, in hopes of recording over 75 songs by February.

Writing via Twitter, the Bad Boy Entertainment protege also announced plans to release a new mixtape next week.

"@MechanicalDummy lets do a smash," Mase wrote to Chris Brown's Twitter account on Thursday (November 12). "@Mattd8 The tape is being dropped internationally and nationally next friday I DO THE IMPOSSIBLE...5 different DJ -> one in London, Canada, China, Korea and the US...The tape is being dropped internationally and nationally next friday I DO THE IMPOSSIBLE..The tape will be hosted by 5 different DJs -> one in London, Canada, China, Korea and the US...I want to do 75 records with people by Valentine Day... I want the record of the most features that were amazing... didn't say I had a hot mixtape I said I want my day one dudes back I'm tired of dealing with people I don't know --> thats all." (Mase's Twitter)

Diddy reportedly released Mase from his Bad Boy contract last month.

"It took me ten years to get this paperwork right here," Mase said in an interview. "I had to put this in UPS with a seal on it. I don't even know what I'ma put out now. Oh my goodness. We good, we good. This is Mase, I got my official papers right here from Puff Daddy, it was love, so I guess we don't have no problems after all. I don't even know how to take that. I'm ain't used to Puff doing good stuff." (Shuddup)

Despite the hype, hip-hop personality Miss Info later detailed the terms of his contract release.

UPDATE: Ok, so my insider tells me....that signature wasn't on a contract release form...it was basically an appearance release form. Basically, Diddy is allowing Mase to appear on songs with other artists. He is not freeing Mase from his contractual obligations to Bad Boy. But this is a start, because Mase already has a big feature in the works, as well as a potential home at Interscope.....which would work out well in terms of those old contractual obligations because Diddy is already over at Interscope as well. Despite having a close connection with 50 Cent back in 2005, the G-Unit leader recently said he no longer had an interest in signing the rapper to his record label.

"I'm cool with Mase, but, right now is different," 50 explained in an interview with reporter Gina Torres. "That was a different time period and a different thing going on. I can always go and make the Kanye West album because Kanye is doing Mase. Not from a Harlem perspective, the rap style that he's using, I bet if you asked him he would tell you he's doing him, his way but it's that style. And Mase, he rap his a** off, it's a gift. I think anything that changes too fast may be no good and Mase's decision was so abrupt that he can't actually stay in one pocket, he kinda flip flopped. He confuses me, that's worse than [confusing] the audience. I'm pretty easy with understanding what the actual situation is." (All Hip Hop)
