50 Cent Speaks On Working With Dr. Dre,says "I've Been Recording For 'Detox' 2 Years Ago"
50 Cent recently discussed his studio relationship with Dr. Dre and his involvement in the long-delayed Detox album.
According to Fif, Dre used the G-Unit leader for a portion of his recording process around 2007.
"I don't even know what's going on with the Detox," Fif admitted in an interview. "The last [time] I spoke to Dre, he was actualy not mixing my records because he was working on The Detox and then we finally got him to mix the records and you know, I think he's back in here producing records for it but I haven't heard pretty much I think it was five or six songs that he actually recorded but that was a long time ago. He probably has a lot more now but I've been recording for The Detox two years ago." (Jam 'N 94.5)
Former Aftermath Records artist Rakim previously spoke on working with the Doc for Detox.
"What I do is just a little bit different than what Dre do," Rakim explained in an interview. "The last I spoke to him was, I had did something for him maybe it was a year ago when he just started putting together his album, I did something on one of the tracks but I don't know which songs are making his album but you know, big up to him. I haven't spoke to him since his son passed away." (Hard Knock TV)
Dre recently promised the project's delivery for sometime in 2010.
"[I'm] only [working] on my album that I've been working on for the last ten years, that's it [laughs]," Dre said about what projects he is working on. "The Detox record. Hopefully I'll get it done by the end of this year and you'll hear it next year. Motivation and other things getting in the way, that's it [has caused the delay.]" (ABC News)
Game emerged last month with an announcement of being in the studio with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg for the album.
"CAN U SAY "DETOX" ??? IN THE STUDIO WIT DRE & SNOOP. WE BOUT 2 MAKE ALOT OF PEOPLE MAD. RIDE WIT US OR GET RAN OVER ! AFTERMATH OR DIE !" (Game's Twitter)
