Alicia Keys On "Empire" Music Vid, "The Way It's Put Together, It Is So Beautiful"

Alicia Keys recently discussed her reaction to Jay-Z's "Empire State Of Mind" music video and said their visual project was nothing less than "artistic."

In addition to speaking on the video's style, Keys also explained how vital it was to feature specific New York landmarks.

"It is a masterpiece video," Keys explained in an interview. "The way it's put together, it is so New York. You totally get it and understand it. It's artistic. It's hard. It's beautiful. It's like everything. And definitely getting to be in the middle of Times Square on my piano [with] Jay, representing our home city is a triumph. It was unbelievable. You have to have the skyline -- it's not New York without the skyline. You have to have the Empire State Building -- it's not New York without the Empire State Building. You have to also have variety. That's what New York is about. There's diversity here and so you see that. It's really beautiful." (MTV)

Hov recently discussed his "Empire State Of Mind" performance at Game 2 of the World Series.

"The moment at Yankee stadium for me, as a kid growing up in Brooklyn, I'm still high off of that," Jay explained in an interview. "But right after that, we got a police escort right to the airport and took a plane straight out...I felt like a kid, the field is beautiful, I never been that close to the field, walking around. I jumped over the center field fence like I was catching a homerun." ("Mike & Mike In The Morning")

The duo will also hit the stage later this month for the American Music Awards.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, Nov. 22 on ABC: Superstar Jay Z and hubby-snatchin' songbird Alicia Keys are set to perform the chart-topping collabo "Empire State of Mind" at the 2009 American Music Awards next month. The duo performed the single -- featured on Hov's Blueprint 3 LP -- at the MTV VMAs last month, but irksome rapper Lil Mama crashed the stage during the performance. (Pop Crunch)

Jay-Z, Kanye West and Rihanna's "Run This Town" collabo took over New York radio airwaves last month and became station Z100's official Yankees' main anthem.

"This song is not false bravado because the Yankees are really good this year," said David Brody, executive producer of "Elvis Duran and The Morning Show," who penned the parody. Fans were buzzing over the spoof, repeatedly requesting to hear it on the air - the only place it's available. "The responses have been tremendous," said Brody, who's really a Met fan. "Obviously, Yankee fever is big right now."
