Lil Wayne's Jail Time Is An 'Eye-Opener,' Young Jeezy Says

Image
Now that Lil Wayne has been sentenced to one year in prison following several delays, the reality is setting in for his fans and friends. No one in the hip-hop community wants to see Weezy leave, and rappers also realize they need to run tighter ships in Wayne's absence. Young Jeezy said he'll not only miss Wayne's work ethic and music, but also his friend's rebellious attitude. "Wayne, like I like to call myself, is a trap-aholic," Young Jeezy told MTV News last week in New York, hours before he brought Weezy onstage at Madison Square Garden as a surprise guest during Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 Tour. That performance — which also included Nicki Minaj and Drake — would be Wayne's last before he went to jail. "He stays in the studio, he stays working," the Snowman added. "We'll definitely miss that. At the same time, we'll definitely miss what he brings to the game as far as him just being Wayne and doing what the f--- he wanna do. We d...

G-Unit's Lloyd Banks recently discussed how he ventured outside of his camp and linked with Dipset's Juelz Santana for their "Beamer, Benz or Bentley" collaboration. According to the "Punch Line King," the two never had a chance to work together in the past due to their inner circle ties. "The Juelz feature is something that didn't happen in [the past] because we had two of our own entities," Banks explained in an interview. "G-Unit had a lot of our own artists we had to showcase, same with Dipset. I was doing records with Prodigy, Mobb Deep, with everybody. I didn't have to go outside the circle. I was excited about the staff we had there. Now it's time for change."To have 'Beamer, Benz or Bentley' added to [radio station] Hot 97 within three or four days was incredible. That was one mixshow weekend that really came at the right time. I'm so thankful, man. It goes to show as long as you keep striving for what you...
